AI use policy

Like many media outlets today, The Take uses artificial intelligence tools. We would rather tell you exactly how than leave room for doubt.

The principle

Every take published by The Take is an opinion of the editorial team. A person chooses it, defends it and takes responsibility for it. Artificial intelligence helps us work faster, but it does not decide what we think or what we publish.

What we use it for

  • Monitoring. An in-house tool scans several hundred sources to flag the articles, shows and podcasts that deserve our attention.
  • Research. Artificial intelligence helps us gather facts, dates and figures. Everything we publish is then checked against the original sources.
  • Writing and editing. It can help us structure, tighten or correct a text. The substance, the angle and the take remain the editorial team's own.
  • Translation. The English edition of Sunday Service is translated with the help of artificial intelligence tools, then proofread.
  • Illustrations. The illustrations on our front pages and in our articles are created with artificial intelligence tools, following an art direction specific to The Take and inspired by lithography.
  • The website. Part of this website's code was written with the help of artificial intelligence tools.

What we do not do

  • We never invent quotations. Every quotation published by The Take was actually said or written, and its source is given.
  • We never publish a fact that has not been checked by a person.
  • We never publish an automatically generated take that someone on the editorial team has not chosen and stood behind.
  • Our illustrations never try to pass as photographs. Any public figure shown in an illustration is visibly drawn.
  • We do not share your personal data, such as your email address, with artificial intelligence tools.
