Who receives your data?
Only The Take has access to your data, along with the technical providers that allow us to operate:
- beehiiv Inc. (United States), to send the newsletter;
- Vercel Inc. (United States), for website hosting and audience measurement;
- Supabase Inc., to host takes, votes and reports;
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland), for the Meta pixel, only if you have accepted it. For the collection and transfer of this data to Meta, The Take and Meta are joint controllers; Meta alone is responsible for how it then uses the data, as described in its own privacy policy.
Some of these providers are located in the United States. Data transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or, failing that, by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses two categories of cookies and trackers:
- Those required for the website to work: remembering your language and your cookie choices, the anonymous identifier that lets you vote only once per take, and a note kept in your browser that a newsletter sign-up has taken place, so that we stop asking you to sign up. This note does not contain your email address. They do not require your consent.
- The Meta pixel, which measures the effectiveness of our ads. It is only set after you explicitly agree in the banner shown on your first visit. It uses two cookies: one identifies your browser, the other keeps the identifier of the ad click that brought you to the site (for 90 days at most). If you withdraw your consent, these cookies are deleted.
Vercel Analytics audience measurement works without cookies.
You can accept or refuse the pixel in one click, just as easily either way. Your choice is kept for six months, after which we will ask you again. You can change it at any time using the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. For the newsletter, an unsubscribe link is included at the bottom of every email. To remove a take you submitted, or for any other request, write to admin@thetake.media; we will reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
